Perhaps one of the most famous strains of all time, Northern Lights is an indica strain bred from two also very famous strains, Afghani and Thai. NL is known for the full-body effects and euphoria it induces and has been the base of many famous strains such as Neville’s Haze and Super Silver Haze. The terpenes from Northern Lights have been combined here with Delta 8 and THCV to produce a vape cart that is out of this world. Quick to hit, potent, and sedating, this vape cartridge will have you relaxing in no time all while tasting like a medley of flowers, fruits, and spice.
This disposable vape cartridge from Dank Lite contains 1000mg of cannabinoids total and works with 510-compatible batteries. It contains only THCV distillate and terpenes and is free of MCT and other carriers, artificial additions, and cutting agents. As a company, Dank Lite prides itself on having some of the best smokable hemp and hemp-derived products on the market and utilizes organic hemp cultivation practices and lab-tests their products for purity.
For those new to THCV, THCV is a hemp and cannabis-derived cannabinoid (although hemp-derived here) whose effects have been said to be dose-dependent. In small to medium doses THCV is less psychoactive and more stimulating, but in higher doses can produce effects that trump even Delta 9 THC, the main form of THC in marijuana. It should be noted however that THCV’s duration of effects is shorter than Delta 9, which users say makes for a cleaner and quicker stone that many seem to prefer over the main cannabis constituent. For more of the science behind THCV, keep reading below.
What is Delta 8 THC?
Cannabinoids are chemical compounds secreted from cannabis plants as resin. They have the ability to interact with our body’s Endocannabinoid System (ECS). Delta 8 THC is a cannabinoid that occurs in much smaller concentrations than most other cannabinoids.
Delta 8 is an isomer that forms as Delta-9 THC ages and oxidizes. This process increases the stability of the Δ8 molecular structure so that it does not degrade as easily and lasts much longer over time.
Delta-8 THC and Delta 9-THC contain similarities in their molecular structure. Both contain double bonds, but D8 contains the bond on the 8th carbon chain and not on the 9th. For that reason, D8 and D9 THC react similarly within the Endocannabinoid receptors in the body as a result of their similar presentation of structure and properties.
D8 requires an intricate process of extraction, isolation, conversion, and refinement. With Δ8 there are benefits and effects to serve both medicinal and recreational consumers. Because D8 occurs in smaller concentrations, it’s common to see it sold in the form of distillates or edibles.
The compound Δ8 legally derives from hemp and contains less than 0.3% Δ9-THC in accordance with the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018 (also known as the 2018 Farm Bill). Within the Bill, it states that all derivatives, isomers, and cannabinoids in hemp are federally legal provided that all final products contain less than 0.3% D9 THC.
- If you are subject to routine drug screenings, do not consume Δ8-THC.
- Each state has its own separate laws regarding hemp products. Please be aware of the laws within your state/province of residence.
- Psychotropic potency of Delta 8 THC will often vary. For this reason, please do not operate a vehicle after consuming Δ8 products.
- Consult your doctor before use.
What is THCV?
Tetrahydrocannabivarin or THCV is a compound found in minimal amounts within cannabis sativa strains. It offers an array of effects and benefits that are unique from other cannabinoids such as THC or CBD.
The difference between THC and THCV is that THC contains a pentyl or five carbon side chain versus a propyl or three carbon side chain in THCV. This molecular difference changes how THCV interacts and affects the receptors in the body.
In small to medium doses, THCV does not deliver identical psychoactive properties that THC imparts. In contrast, it essentially works to mitigate the “high” that THC affords its users. With higher doses, THCV does prove to offer its own unique psychoactive characteristics. It is said to produce a clear euphoric state of mind.
THCV is also known to reduce feelings of anxiety for those prone to panic attacks, but with the advantage of not suppressing emotions unlike some SSRI medications that cause emotional blunting.
THCV is also known to reduce feelings of anxiety for those prone to panic attacks, but with the benefit of not suppressing emotions.
Research is progressing within Alzheimer’s Disease and THCV use. THCV has the ability to bind to both CB1 and CB2 receptors of the body’s endocannabinoid system. Due to this, it has shown promise in improving tremors, motor control and brain lesions.
It is also thought that THCV may assist to improve bone growth by promoting new bone cell growth. More and more research is in progress for osteoporosis and other bone related conditions.
Due to the fact that THCV is specific to certain sativa strains and is found in very low quantities, it is mainly available through extraction, which makes THCV available in very small amounts as distillate mixed with terpenes in vape cartridges, tinctures, edibles or in rare flower strains such as Pink Boost Goddess.
THCV isolate is known to have a boiling point of 428°F (220℃). This is significant in that it vaporizes at much higher temperatures than other cannabinoids. Variable voltage vape pens that can be adjusted are recommended for a better vaping experience.
- If you are subject to routine drug screenings, do not consume THCV.

- Psychotropic potency of THCV will often vary. For this reason, please do not operate a vehicle after consuming THCV products.
- Consult your doctor before use.
Take one or two short draws using the lowest heat setting on your battery. Wait 45 mins for the effects to settle in prior to using again.
