As a new patient, we would like to explain to you the process of getting evaluated for medical marijuana to show you just how easy and professional it is. We want to do everything we can to make you feel comfortable and prepared when you visit our office.
Once you have made your appointment and before you arrive at our office in West Hollywood, please make sure you have a California Driver’s License or a Valid California ID Card. We also recommend you bring medical records with you, although it is not necessary unless you are under the age of 21.
Upon arrival at our office you will be greeted by our professional staff who will assist you in filling out all of the necessary medical forms prior to seeing the doctor. Tell them you are a new patient and show them your ID and any medical records you may have.
Once the medical assistant has completed your intake forms the medical marijuana doctor will greet you and bring you back to his office. He will spend approximately 15 minutes reviewing your medical history; perform a full exam which includes checking your blood pressure and temperature. He will then spend some time answering all questions that you may have.
This evaluation will assess two goals. The first goal is to make sure that you qualify under Proposition 215 to legally medicate with cannabis and the second goal is to make sure the benefits of using cannabis outweigh the risks. If you do not qualify, the visit and evaluation will be free of charge.
Once the physician has determined your qualification, you will receive your recommendation letter and medical marijuana Identification certificate after you have paid the completion fee. The certificate can be used in any California dispensary and with any law enforcement personnel. For an additional fee you can have that certificate converted to a compact and stylish medical marijuana card, please visit our Marijuana ID Card page for more information.
Once you leave our medical office, you will be able to use your certification immediately for a year. You are now allowed to legally possess, use and grow medical marijuana for medicinal purposes in the state of California.
There is an ever-increasing understanding that marijuana is indeed a benign, valuable, and medicinal herb that has been largely misunderstood. Our objective is to empower you by educating you on the California Medical Marijuana Laws, the Compassionate Use Act (Prop. 215, 1996) and the Medical Marijuana Implementation Act (SB 420, 2004). With your qualification, these laws are in full force in the California courts and must be upheld by all state and local law enforcement agencies. By having our medical professional approve your medical marijuana status, you will be even more secure with the knowledge that you are safe and legal under our current state legislation.
