Appearance, labeling & first impressions
These pre rolled hemp joints come in a foil package that you can zip close to preserve and lock in the freshness. On the front, in big letters are the words “ELLZ ORIGINAL HEMP PRE ROLLS”. The pouch also lets you know there are 2 pre rolls inside and to remind or encourage you to “Relax and Enjoy” as you smoke them.
At the top, there’s a dotted line and the words “tear here”. And right underneath that is the ziplock seal.
On the backside, there’s a sticker with the QR code and a summary of the lab testing results. It’s smack dab in the center of the package, so you won’t miss it. And perhaps, that’s the point! When I opened up the pouch a wonderful smell hit my nostrils. I emptied out the two brown-colored hemp pre-rolls into my hand and say filters at the ends. There was no question in my mind that these were in fact hand rolled, no machines whatsoever. Overall, the first impressions were super positive.
Aroma & flavor
As I briefly mentioned, the smell upon opening up the pouch was delightful! It reminded me of Hawaiian Haze, with its sweet, fruity, and earthy aromas. You could tell the flower was fresh and rich in terpene goodness.
Since this is a product you smoke (expose to combustion) and not vape, the flavors aren’t exactly the selling point. But there’s still a subtle flavor when smoking these ELLZ that is very satisfying. The flavors I got were similar to the aromas, an earthy taste with some undertones of fruit.
Testing process & experience
Each of these ELLZ Originals has one gram of hemp flower, so I was not able to finish the whole thing in one session. I probably went through about a third of the blunt per smoke sesh. That was perfect for me and gave me at least 7 to 8 hits each time.
As for the effects, I felt really relaxed and my mind came back into harmony. No more busy thoughts racing through my head, just a state of cool, calm, and collected. Even with the relaxed feeling, I never felt sleepy. But I mostly smoked in the afternoons and only a few times at night.
However, the few times I smoked late in the evening, I noticed it got my mind thinking about bed and definitely made falling asleep much easier and faster.
Compared to other CBD pre rolls I’ve tried, these definitely stood out because of the beautiful way they burned, the ease of each hit on my throat, and the quality of effects.
